The news displayed on our phones,
just another food recall.
Checking packages of hamburger.
Are we in danger? Yes.
Calls to loved ones, can't get through.
Alarm growing,
pain seizing,
can't make it to the bathroom,
throw up in the sink.
Confusion, what do we see?
Tiny devices swimming in the vomit, but so many more inside.
Thousands of nanites clawing away our intestines.
The price for eating.
Safety an illusion.
Thousands dead. The tiny armies beginning their work. Recall on humanity.
